Freshman/ Sophomore/ Early Junior Years
- Investigate possibility of completing five year program with Dr. Woodard, Dr. Monahan, and Dr. Ghosh
- Students must have a minimum accumulated grade point average (GPA) of 3.5/4.0 at NC State to enter the BS/MS Program
- Speak with students who have gone through five year program
Junior Year
- Write a short letter of interest to Drs. Woodard, Ghosh, and Monahan in the fall
- Take the GREs in fall
- Conference with Drs. Woodard, Ghosh, and Monahan in Spring of Junior year
- Submit Letter of Intent/ Plan of Graduate Work in spring of Junior year
- Officially apply for entrance into the graduate program in spring semester of Junior year
Senior Year
- Attend Orientation for new graduate students in August
- Start taking graduate level courses (500 level and above)
- Students may take up to twelve credit hours of graduate level course work during their senior year that may be applied towards the requirements for both the bachelor's and the master's degree in statistics. Note: 400-level courses such as MA 425 may not be counted toward the master's degree requirements
- Students must receive a grade of B (3.0/4.0) or better in the double-counted graduate level courses.Grades of B- and below may not be double-counted
- An additional six hours of graduate level courses may be taken during the student's senior year that will only count towards the master's degree. No 400-level courses will be counted toward the master's degree
- Conference with Drs. Woodard, Arroway, and Ghosh in December of the senior year
- All courses for the bachelor's degree must be completed by the end of the student's senior year
- Graduate with bachelor's degree!
- Take the master's basic exam at the end of summer
Fifth Year
- Finish courses for master's degree. A non-thesis Master's degree must be completed within 12 months of completing the Baccalaureate degree
- Take oral exams in the spring
- Graduate with master's degree!
