Additional Notes on Course Work

Students following the concentration in Statistical Genetics may use Bioinformatics Consulting (currently offered as ST610) to substitute for ST641 Consulting in the Statistics core courses.

Most statistical genetics elective courses rely on the material covered in GN 311 (Principles of Genetics) or a comparable course from another university as a prerequisite. Note that GN 311 will not count for graduate credit.

Students who plan to pursue a Ph.D. in a field related to biology are strongly encouraged to enroll in Molecular Genetics (GN 701).
