    • ST/GN 757: Statistical Methods of Mapping Quantitative Trait Loci
    • ST/GN 770: Statistical Concepts in Genetics
    • ST 785: Introduction to Statistical Decision Theory
  • 9 hours of supporting electives. Suggested electives are
    • GN 411: Principles of Genetics if needed.
    • GN/ANS 713: Quantitative Genetics and Breeding

Additional Notes on Course Work

Two required courses (ST/GN 721 and GN 703) as well as several other elective courses rely on the material covered in GN 311 (Principles of Genetics; used to be GN 411) or a comparable course from another university as a prerequisite. Note that GN 311 will not count for graduate credit.

Students who plan to pursue a Ph.D. in a field related to biology are strongly encouraged to enroll in Molecular Genetics (GN 701).
