Required Course Work
In addition to the core courses, the following courses are required.

Additional Notes on Course Work
Two required courses (ST/GN 721 and GN 703) as well as several other elective courses rely on the material covered in GN 311 (Principles of Genetics; used to be GN 411) or a comparable course from another university as a prerequisite. Note that GN 311 will not count for graduate credit.
Students who plan to pursue a Ph.D. in a field related to biology are strongly encouraged to enroll in Molecular Genetics (GN 701).
