Software

There are many commercial software packages that perform statistical analysis. For this course we recognize that some students may have a particular package with which they are familiar or that is required by their department faculty. As such, students may use any statistical software with which they are familiar. There are several FREE options for using software in this course

  • Students who have no experience with software will be given detailed instructions on using StatCrunch software. It is free for NCSU students and does not need to be installed. To access StatCrunch simply go to the statcrunch.stat.ncsu.edu.
  • Students who want to use the JMP software may obtain it for free to install on their home machines. For more information go to sas.ncsu.edu.
  • Students with more advanced computing skills and would like to use SAS for their work can obtain SAS for their home machines. For more information go to sas.ncsu.edu.
