This award is made in recognition of Professor Gallant's work in the areas of inference in nonlinear models, unification of the asymptotic theory of nonlinear econometric models, and development of the theory and application of flexible functional forms which have brought him to the forefront of the profession and thereby enhanced the stature of the Department of Statistics.
