Department of Statistics at North Carolina State University is jointly organizing the 2011 International Conference on Probability, Statistics, and Data Analysis with the International Indian Statistical Association from April 21 to April 24, 2011 in Raleigh, NC. The objective of the conference is to bring together both well established and emerging young researchers from around the world who are actively pursuing theoretical and methodological research in statistics and their applications in various allied fields. The conference aims to provide a forum for leading experts and young researchers to discuss recent progress in statistical theory and applications, thereby provide new directions for statistical inference in various fields. The Department of Statistics at NCSU is among the nation's oldest and most prestigious, housed in the SAS Hall, a new state-of-the-art building on main campus. The faculties are well-known for excellence in research and teaching and the statistics graduate program is the largest in the country. As one of the three "corners" of the Research Triangle, Raleigh's academic research network begins with North Carolina State University and is enhanced by the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and Duke University in Durham. All of these North Carolina Universities are within a 30-minute commute of each other and are only 10-15 minutes from Research Triangle Park, one of the nation's largest and most prestigious planned research centers.
